Gazprom is the world’s largest natural gas company. Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T) handles the retail and trading aspect of the business, with trade floors in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
As the trading business expanded, the GM&T team knew they needed to move away from their in-house custom trading platform to one that could continue to grow with the company. This led to the selection and implementation of the Openlink Endur energy trading and risk management (ETRM) platform.
The team felt that Openlink Endur offered the best chance to get from where GM&T was to where they wanted to be. They knew the transaction volume would grow significantly.
Endur for energy retail and energy trading
The Endur solution now manages their European natural gas business, the retail of financial energy products and the FX trading business. The platform lets the GM&T team know what is being traded at any point in time and provides compliance with business controls across the trading lifecycle. This gives GM&T the security it needs to increase the number of trading transactions and to have a clear understanding of the value of the trading products in the portfolio.
We now have enhanced business controls covering the trade lifecycle.
In bringing the Endur ETRM solution to market, the GM&T team developed a strong relationship with the Openlink account team, working together to identify and remove obstacles. Central to the success of the solution has been structured partnering with other IT service companies.
